Win a KitchenAid® Artisan® Series Blender, by creating a unique summer cocktail and blogging about it!

Chilled fruit summer soups, salsas, cool cocktails -- what will you make with your new blender this summer? You've never met a blender that can mix like this, turning ice cubes to snow in a matter of seconds, then blend-up milkshakes, smoothies and everything in between. OK, and the BEST part...YOU get to pick the color you want! The KitchenAid Artisan® Series features:
  • 5 Speeds
  • 56-Oz. Shatter-Resistant Blend & Serve Pitcher
  • Patented stainless steel blade is positioned on four different planes for fast, thorough blending
  • Stay-Put Lid w/Ingredient Cup
  • Steel-Reinforced Coupler

You have to do three Wicked Good things to enter. Oh, before you do those things though, be sure to read this entire post so you're clear on rules and prizes and things. OK, in order to enter, you'll need to:
  1. SUBSCRIBE to Wicked Good Dinner with a legitimate profile so we can notify you if you win.
  2. Start concocting your favorite summer cocktail or mocktail and BLOG about it! Create an original blended summer cocktail or mocktail recipe, using 5 ingredients or less, and post it on your blog with a photo, and a link back to Wicked Good Dinner somewhere in the post (http://www.wickedgooddinner.blogspot.com/).
  3. Then, come on back to this page, and post a comment below between now and midnight, Friday, June 4, 2010 East, telling us the NAME of your favorite summer cocktail or mocktail, with a perma-LINK to the RECIPE on your blog. Please do not post the entire recipe below -- it must appear on your blog. One winner will be selected, and announced on Monday evening, June 7, 2010, and the winning recipe featured on Wicked Good Dinner.
Why post to your blog first? For a couple of reasons. (1) We want to give you some link love and exposure. There are so many wonderful food, craft and life blogs out there and we want to give a shout-out to you! (Hi!) and (2) a comment area is no place for a super awesome recipe - your blog will give you the room you need to post photos, recipes and instructions.

Are you gonna visit each blog? You betcha! Every link will be visited, recipes examined, tested the weekend of the 4th, and winner declared! The winner gets a cool prize and their recipe featured on Wicked Good Dinner.

Um, what's a perma-link? A perma-link is the permanent link to your post, instead of just the general URL to your blog. Click on the title of your blog post, look at the URL window, and you'll see your permanent link. This is the one to copy and paste in the comment section below :-)

What if my photos stink? Don't sweat it, kid! Some of our photos stink, too...have you looked at some of our posts from 2007, LOL! Seriously, no worries about photos. Take the best ones you can - it's what makes you charming! (p.s. we're working on fixing our photos from 2007, seriously!)

RULES TO LIVE BY: By entering, all participants acknowledge their recipe is original and has not been reprinted in part or whole from another source. One entry per person - more than one entry will disqualify all entries. Replies posted after midnight, Friday, June 4, 2010 will not be counted. Anonymous comments will be discarded - you need to be subscribed to Wicked Good Dinner so we may notify you if you win. Recipes will be judged by Wicked Good Dinner, all decisions are final. U.S. residents only; item will be shipped directly from the manufacturer. No monetary exchanges or substitutions allowed. Void where prohibited. Total giveaway value, $129.00 US.

Win a copy of the revised edition of the New York Times best seller, Fix-It and Forget-It, plus a Cuisinart Slow Cooker!

Slow cooking has become an art for all seasons. It keeps us filled with warm, cozy meals during the winter, and saves us from having to heat up the kitchen in the summer.

The New York Times best selling book, Fix-It and Forget-It ($15.95 soft cover) has become the bible of slow cooking. The new revised edition features 100 new recipes for slow cookers with “Prep Time,” “Cooking Time,” and “Ideal Slow-Cooker Size” for each recipe. The revised edition also includes additional tips and tricks for making the most of your slow cooker.

Wicked Good Dinner paired the best slow cooker book with the best slow cooker!

The Cuisinart Programmable Slow Cooker (model PSC-650, $99.95 retail) is a 6.5-quart unit designed with digital technology and touchpad controls that make it easier for home cooks to create everything from chicken cacciatore to cherry cobbler. Cuisinart’s slow cooker features an oval ceramic pot and has three cooking modes: Simmer, Low and High and automatically shifts to a “Warm” setting when the cooking time ends. The special warm feature ensures that food is kept at the proper serving temperature without continuing to cook the ingredients. The exterior of the Slow Cooker has contemporary brushed stainless steel housing and chrome-plated handles, making it an attractive buffet server as well.

Between now and midnight, Friday, May 21, 2010 East, post a comment below, telling us what you'll be cooking in your slow cooker this year. One winner will be selected at random, and announced on Monday, May 24, 2010.

Upcoming Giveaways

Keep an eye out -- we'll be giving away a copy of Dinner for Busy Moms, and dishing out some Walkers shortbread products very soon! Walkers is one of my favorite cookies -- mainly because of their four simple ingredients: flour, water, sugar, salt. Love it.

Oh, and be sure to give some love to Bidwell Botanicals, too (ad on the right). We've been buddies for the last four years, and their products are amazing. Bidwell's body butters and sugar scrubs are like food for your skin -- nourishing, all-natural and make you feel great.
